Videonystagmography (VNG) for the diagnosis of vestibular disorders

Videonystagmography VNG

Find out whether your dizziness is caused by a problem in the inner ear’s vestibular system with our state-of-the-art, German-engineered HOMOTH videonystagmography (VNG) system. This technology is used to investigate vestibular disorders associated with dizziness, vertigo and balance problems.
The examination takes approximately 30 minutes. It may cause mild dizziness, which is temporary and usually subsides within a few minutes. During the examination, the patient lies on the examination chair, which is positioned at an angle of approximately 30 degrees.

The vestibular system is then stimulated alternately with warm and cold air while the patient remains lying on the examination chair and wears special camera-equipped Frenzel goggles connected to a computer.
At the end of the examination, the system provides an automated analysis to help determine whether vestibular dysfunction is present, which inner ear is affected, and the degree of reduced vestibular responsiveness (vestibular hypofunction).

Based on the findings, the doctor provides appropriate guidance and, if necessary, prescribes medication.
