Audiology Clinic

AUDIOLOGY CLINIC FOR THE EVALUATION OF HEARING, VERTIGO AND EARDRUM DISORDERS

The clinic is fully equipped for comprehensive audiological assessment, with a pure-tone and speech audiometer for detailed evaluation of hearing sensitivity, measuring hearing thresholds in decibels across different frequencies.
Age-related hearing loss (presbycusis) can also be assessed in older adults, and electronic prescription of hearing aids is available when indicated.

The clinic is also equipped with a tympanometer with acoustic reflex testing capabilities for the diagnosis of middle-ear disorders, including otitis media and Eustachian tube dysfunction. The absence of acoustic reflexes can also contribute to the diagnosis of otosclerosis.

The HOMOTH videonystagmography (VNG) system is used for the diagnosis and evaluation of vertigo and vestibular disorders. The clinic also provides play audiometry for hearing assessment in young children aged approximately 2–5 years, as well as otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing for the diagnostic assessment of hearing disorders in very young children and in individuals who are unable to cooperate with conventional hearing tests, including children with autism and other conditions affecting cooperation.

Finally, the state-of-the-art otomicroscope allows detailed examination of the ear and comprehensive assessment of the tympanic membrane, including traumatic injuries, small perforations, inflammation and other ear disorders.
