For more reliable diagnosis of disorders affecting the upper airway, including the nose, nasopharynx, pharynx, larynx and vocal folds, the clinic is equipped with a state of the art OLYMPUS flexible endoscope, manufactured in Japan and featuring advanced imaging technology. It provides high-resolution, highly detailed images for accurate examination and diagnosis.
With an exceptionally small diameter of just 3.2 mm, the endoscope is very comfortable for the patient, allowing easy passage through the upper airway and enabling the physician to capture detailed images of the anatomical areas under examination.
Its soft, flexible construction and hydrophilic coating allow it to pass smoothly and comfortably through the nasal cavity, minimizing discomfort during the examination. Its small diameter also makes it particularly suitable for children aged 5 years and older.
The examination is performed easily and painlessly in the clinic. Only mild local anesthesia is required, using cotton swabs soaked with lidocaine applied inside the nose. The entire examination usually takes no more than 5 minutes.
ADVANTAGES AND APPLICATIONS OF THE ENF TYPE V2 FLEXIBLE VIDEO RHINOLARYNGOSCOPE ENF TYPE V2 (for diagnosis)
- Its very small diameter of just 3.2 mm makes the examination highly comfortable and well tolerated.
- Its flexible tip can be maneuvered by the physician and directed precisely toward the anatomical area requiring examination, allowing focused visualization.
- It is particularly suitable for patients with a pronounced gag reflex. Since the endoscope is introduced through the nose, it allows examination of the larynx while minimizing stimulation of the gag reflex.
- The system features three levels of image enhancement -ENHANCE I, II and III- as well as ZOOM IN and ZOOM OUT functions, providing high-definition visualization and excellent image clarity.
- In children, flexible endoscopy is particularly useful for the diagnosis and assessment of enlarged adenoids, avoiding the need for radiological examination and unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Its advanced Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) technology can assist in the early detection and evaluation of suspicious or potentially precancerous and cancerous lesions of the nasopharynx, pharynx and larynx.
- The soft, flexible design and hydrophilic coating allow smooth passage through the nasal cavity and make the examination very well tolerated.
- It can also be used as part of the diagnostic assessment of smokers and for examination of the upper airway and larynx, which may form an important part of an overall smoking cessation and health assessment.
