Vocal cord surgery – treatment of vocal cord dysfunction

Vocal cord surgery with the use of a microscope and a special laryngoscope (microlaryngoscopy) is the most modern method of technology for treating voice problems and vocal cord dysfunction.

Phonosurgery is the most technologically advanced method for treating disorders of the voice and vocal cords.
Microlaryngoscopy is performed under continuous monitoring with a high-resolution camera. Using specialized microsurgical instruments, anatomical abnormalities of the vocal cords are corrected, including polyps, calluses, nodules, papillomas, granulomas, thickening, polypoid degeneration of the vocal cords, and cysts.

There is also the possibility of taking biopsies from areas of the larynx suspected of being malignant, in order to stage the tumor and plan its postoperative treatment effectively.
In all cases, phonosurgery requires a short general anesthetic.

Thanks to this high-tech method, which offers great surgical precision, faster voice recovery is ensured, as incisions and injuries to the highly sensitive area of the vocal cords are avoided.

After the procedure, which takes very little time, the patient recovers until sufficiently awake from the anesthesia and is discharged home on the same day.
There are no incisions, scars, or stitches, and no postoperative pain whatsoever. The only restriction is a few days of voice rest.
